Move | Name | Description |
---|---|---|
ZR | Special Action | Shoot. |
ZR while airborne | Shoot | Slow motion shoot. |
A | Special Attack | |
B | Dodge | |
B while (L) | Sprint | Start sprinting |
X [(hold)] | Strong Attack 1 | A circular attack. If hold, a strong one. |
X while sprint | Dash attack | Links rides his shield, hitting many ennemy forward. |
Y while sprint | ??? attack | Link hits forward several ennemy. Careful that when running this first attack is always perform first, before any combo. So to perform Strong Attack 3 while running, one must do instead Y Y Y X. |
Y Y Y Y Y Y Y (repeat) |
Standard attack | Link slashes downward from right to left (Y), then horizontally from left to right (Y), then spins in the air forward slashing diagonally from left to right (Y), and again from left to right (Y), then horizontally right-to-left (Y), then again left-to-right (Y), then a final jump and vertical hit (Y). |
Y X [Y Y Y] X Y X B |
Strong Attack 2 | After 1st standard attack, Link performs a huge upward vertical slash that brings him in the air (X). Then either Link performs three attacks while airborne (Y Y Y) and concludes with a final hit on the ground (X), or can start paragliding (B). If maintaining X and releasing, Links does a half circular attack, and strong attack forward. |
Y Y X [(hold)] | Strong Attack 3 | After 2nd attack (Y Y), Link rides his shield, and rushes forward hitting ennemies (X). If maintaining and releasing X, Link does a serie of oblique attacks in all directions, and concludes with a large horizontal attack left-to-right. |
Y Y Y X [(hold)] | Strong Attack 4 | After 3rd attack (Y Y Y), Link does a circular attack (X). If holding and releasing X, Link does an even larger circular attack collecting all ennemies mid-air, and slash then in the air upward from left to right. |
Y Y Y Y X [Y Y Y] X, or Y Y Y Y X B |
Strong Attack 5 | After 4th attack (Y Y Y Y), Link does a aerial circular attack (X), and may proceed as in Strong Attack 2. If hold and release, Link perform a large horizontal attack from left to right, then point his sword upward and releases a powerful energy circular blast hittin ennemy in the air. |
Y Y Y Y Y [y] X | Strong Attack 6 | After 5th attack or 6th attack (Y Y Y Y Y [Y]), Link perform a forward circular attack, and a final rush attack forward (X). |

Move | Name | Description |
---|---|---|
ZR | Special Action | Attach a symbol to an enemy in front of Impa. This can be done several times to attach several symbols. |
ZR while airborne | Shoot | Shoot an arrow while flying. |
A | Special Attack | Throw a powder barrel (if less than 3 symbols), or stack several exploding barrel if all three symbols. At the end of the attack, absorb automatically one symbol (1 left if already had 3), which is very useful when symbols are hard to absorb. |
B | Dodge | Impa may retreat in a stealth jump back to safety by holding (R) backward and pressing B. This can be done at the end of any combo. |
B while (L) | Sprint | Start sprinting |
X while sprint | Dash attack | Impa throws her blade like a boomerang, while keeping sprinting. Very efficient against distant group of monsters that we encounter while sprinting. |
Y Y Y Y Y Y Y (repeat) |
Standard attack | (1st Y) Impa slashes upward from right to left, then (2nd Y) horizontally right to left in a wide horizontal arc. She then (3rd Y) holds her hands together to cast 4 runes in mid-air, which she then (4th Y) sends forward in a damaging whirlwind. She continues (5th Y) with a long and wide forward horizontal slash that gather all monsters in front of her (seems very effective against aligned monsters), and then (6th Y) a succession of several oblique attacks in all directions. Finally (7th Y), she concludes with a forward jump, hitting the ground with her blade. The whole sequence can be repeated. |
X X, or X (hold) (repeat) |
Strong Attack 1 | Impa performs a stealth jump forward to (the possibly far) target and slashes it once, then follows up with a second forward stab. The whole sequence can be repeated, either by pressing repeatedly X, or by holding X, then release and hold again. |
Y X [Y Y Y] X Y X B |
Strong Attack 2 | After 1st standard attack (1st Y), Impa jumps in the air throwing knifes (1st X) then a bomb and start flying. She then performs (2nd Y) one, then (3rd Y) three, and (4th Y) five attacks, and finally smashes the ground (2nd X) with her blade. While in air Press B to abort flying |
Y Y X | Strong Attack 3 | After her 2nd standard attack (Y Y), Impa disappears and her clones perform large circular attacks (1st X) around here, and finally concludes with a very wide in front of her. |
Y Y Y X | Strong Attack 4 | After her 3rd standard attack (Y Y Y), the summoned rune becomes red and bigger (1st X), and either Impa attaches a symbol to the monster in front if she has no clone, or all clones gather in circle and fire a powerful laser beam at the monster. |
Y Y Y Y X | Strong Attack 5 | After her 4th standard attack (Y Y Y Y), Impa summons a giant Sheikah symbol and hovering icy blade on the targeted monster (1st X), followed by a rain of clones (if present). |
Y Y Y Y Y X, or Y Y Y Y Y X (hold) [B] |
Strong Attack 6 | After her 5th standard attack (Y Y Y Y Y), Impa summons a giant frog that she (and her clones) rides (1st X) and dealing damage, and finally concludes with a stab on the ground. If holding X, Impa keeps riding the frog (use (L) to move), and releasing X triggers the final stab. Alternatively, Impa can start flying with B. |
- Tips
- To quickly max out symbols, attach three symbols at once when reaching a group of monster (by pressing ZR three times), then slash through it with Dash attack.
- When attached, a symbol can also be absorbed by doing standard attacks only.
- Use Magnesis rule to cancel any animation and dodge any deadly attack. If metal is nearby it will even trigger a useful damage.
- Weak point drainer: with clones, strong attack 4 (the laser beam). Without clones, strong attack 5 (the hovering icy blade) [1].
- On boss, a good way to collect symbols seems to use Strong Attack 2. Flying in the air somewhat prevents being hit.
- Best weapon collected
- Faithful Kodachi, dmg 74 (from Octo-Polish).
- Questions
- When doing Y X B, we see message "B Sheikah Flight Form". What does that mean?
Zelda
- Tips
- Against Stone Talus: Zelda can trigger weak point gauge thanks to vertical attacks (shower of light arrows).
- Best weapon collected
- Ancient Overclock Unit, 53.
- Sealing Bow, 71 (from Red Moon, in Great Plateau chapter 7).
Mipha
- Best weapon collected
- Lightscale Trident 60.
Teba
- Best weapon collected
- Falcon Bow: 70.
Yunobo
- Best weapon collected
- Medium-Rare Rock Roast: 52
Ganon
- Best weapon collected
- Heart of Annihilation 70 (from Blue Moon, in Great Plateau chapter 7).
Tips
Use two-player mode for divine beast Vah'Naboris
Use 1st player to control, and 2nd player to shoot. The 2nd player is not rate limited (firing doesn't impact the gauge).
6 Advanced Combat Tips And Tricks
Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNomb4BVAC4
- Use Statis to extend the weak point animation (some characters requires dash-cancel to break out of standard statis attack, Daruk can't). Note: Weak point smashing is the highest damaging attack in the game.
- Advanced attack trick.
- Urbosa float cancel: press ZR (charge) while airborne and attacking to reset the attack counter.
- Revali rune slide.
- Use rod correctly. Don't use same on same (no effect). Use opposite to create a critical weak point. Use terrain to extend power of elemental rods (fire on grass, ice on water, lightning on water/metal).
- Use of magnesis cancel to dodge any attack (doesn't work with Zelda).
- Impa is the game's strongest character.
- Use menu slow down to your advantage (object selection). TO have perpetual slow down, to better know when and how to do some actions (eg. perfect dodge).
Difficulty level
Difficulty level only affects ennemy hit points, weak point damage, and their attack damage. In very hard, ennemies like Lynel will basically two shot any character.
It will not affect the amount or type of rewards. So use easy level to grind rapidly, and use very hard to train your battle skills and for the challenge.
Collect apples, rods, weapons
Better option is usually to do one chapter in easy difficulty to fill up the items.
Collect good weapons for some character
Run the Red Moon missions, picking the character as main character (although it seems that all characters get high quality weapons).
Use Mipha Special Attack to Heal the team
Mipha will heal all characters that are in the area of her special attack (A). Make sure to tell all characters to follow her if the team is low on health.
Notable mission
- Lv 78 The Siege of Fort Hateno (lot of ennemies, lot of guardians).
Useful recipes
- +100% rupee, -20% health (in partiular in main chapters)
- +15% speed
- +20% material.
