Impa

Move Name Description
B while (L) Sprint Start sprinting
X X, or
X (hold), or
(repeat)
Strong Attack 1 Impa performs a stealth jump forward to (the possibly far) target and slashes it once, then follows up with a second forward stab.
The whole sequence can be repeated, either by pressing repeatedly X, or by holding X, then release and hold again.
X while sprint Dash attack Impa throws her blade like a boomerang, while keeping sprinting. Very efficient against distant group of monsters that we encounter while sprinting.
Y Y Y Y Y Y Y
(repeat) Standard attack (1st Y) Impa slashes upward from right to left, then (2nd Y) horizontally right to left in a wide horizontal arc. She then (3rd Y) holds her hands together to cast 4 runes in mid-air, which she then (4th Y) sends forward in a damaging whirlwind. She continues (5th Y) with a long and wide forward horizontal slash that gather all monsters in front of her (seems very effective against aligned monsters), and then (6th Y) a succession of several oblique attacks in all directions. Finally (7th Y), she concludes with a forward jump, hitting the ground with her blade.
The whole sequence can be repeated.
B+back after combo Stealth retreat At the end of any combo (eg Y Y Y Y, or X X), Impa may retreat in a stealth jump back to safety by holding (R) backward and pressing B.
ZR Special Action Attach a symbol to an enemy in front of Impa.
This can be done several times to attach several symbols.

Tips
  • To quickly max out symbols, attach three symbols at once when reaching a group of monster (by pressing ZR three times), then slash through it with Dash attack.
  • When attached, a symbol can also be absorbed by doing standard attacks only

Tips

Use two-player mode for divine beast Vah'Naboris

Use 1st player to control, and 2nd player to shoot. The 2nd player is not rate limited (firing doesn't impact the gauge).
