Impa

Move Name Description
B while (L) Sprint Start sprinting
X X, or
X (hold)
(repeat)
Strong Attack 1 Impa performs a stealth jump forward to (the possibly far) target and slashes it once, then follows up with a second forward stab.
The whole sequence can be repeated, either by pressing repeatedly X, or by holding X, then release and hold again.
X while sprint Dash attack Impa throws her blade like a boomerang, while keeping sprinting. Very efficient against distant group of monsters that we encounter while sprinting.
Y Y Y Y Y Y Y
(repeat)
Standard attack (1st Y) Impa slashes upward from right to left, then (2nd Y) horizontally right to left in a wide horizontal arc. She then (3rd Y) holds her hands together to cast 4 runes in mid-air, which she then (4th Y) sends forward in a damaging whirlwind. She continues (5th Y) with a long and wide forward horizontal slash that gather all monsters in front of her (seems very effective against aligned monsters), and then (6th Y) a succession of several oblique attacks in all directions. Finally (7th Y), she concludes with a forward jump, hitting the ground with her blade.
The whole sequence can be repeated.
B, or

B + back

Dodge Impa may retreat in a stealth jump back to safety by holding (R) backward and pressing B. This can be done at the end of any combo.
ZR Special Action Attach a symbol to an enemy in front of Impa.
This can be done several times to attach several symbols.
Y X [Y Y Y] X

Y X B

Strong Attack 2 After 1st standard attack (1st Y), Impa jumps in the air throwing knifes (1st X) then a bomb and start flying. She then performs (2nd Y) one, then (3rd Y) three, and (4th Y) five attacks, and finally smashes the ground (2nd X) with her blade.
While in air Press B to abort flying
Y Y X Strong Attack 3 After her 2nd standard attack (Y Y), Impa disappears and her clones perform large circular attacks (1st X) around here, and finally concludes with a very wide in front of her.
Y Y Y X Strong Attack 4 After her 3rd standard attack (Y Y Y), the summoned rune becomes red and bigger (1st X), and either Impa attaches a symbol to the monster in front if she has no clone, or all clones gather in circle and fire a powerful laser beam at the monster.
Y Y Y Y X Strong Attack 5 After her 4th standard attack (Y Y Y Y), Impa summons a giant Sheikah symbol and hovering icy blade on the targeted monster (1st X), followed by a rain of clones (if present).
Y Y Y Y Y X, or

Y Y Y Y Y X (hold) [B]

Strong Attack 6 After her 5th standard attack (Y Y Y Y Y), Impa summons a giant frog that she (and her clones) rides (1st X) and dealing damage, and finally concludes with a stab on the ground. If holding X, Impa keeps riding the frog (use (L) to move), and releasing X triggers the final stab. Alternatively, Impa can start flying with B.
Tips
  • To quickly max out symbols, attach three symbols at once when reaching a group of monster (by pressing ZR three times), then slash through it with Dash attack.
  • When attached, a symbol can also be absorbed by doing standard attacks only.
  • Use Magnesis rule to cancel any animation and dodge any deadly attack. If metal is nearby it will even trigger a useful damage.
Questions
  • When doing Y X B, we see message "B Sheikah Flight Form". What does that mean?

Tips

Use two-player mode for divine beast Vah'Naboris

Use 1st player to control, and 2nd player to shoot. The 2nd player is not rate limited (firing doesn't impact the gauge).

6 Advanced Combat Tips And Tricks

Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNomb4BVAC4

  1. Use Statis to extend the weak point animation (some characters requires dash-cancel to break out of standard statis attack, Daruk can't). Note: Weak point smashing is the highest damaging attack in the game.
  2. Advanced attack trick.
    • Urbosa float cancel: press ZR (charge) while airborne and attacking to reset the attack counter.
    • Revali rune slide.
  3. Use rod correctly. Don't use same on same (no effect). Use opposite to create a critical weak point. Use terrain to extend power of elemental rods (fire on grass, ice on water, lightning on water/metal).
  4. Use of magnesis cancel to dodge any attack (doesn't work with Zelda).
  5. Impa is the game's strongest character.
  6. Use menu slow down to your advantage (object selection). TO have perpetual slow down, to better know when and how to do some actions (eg. perfect dodge).
