Account setup
- Specifying a custom port for connecting to POP3/IMAP/SMTP server. Use simply the convention servername:port when entering the server name.
Backup
To fully backup and restore Evolution data, including signatures, email account configuration, etc, backup the following files and directories (see [1]):
- ~/.evolution
- ~/.gconf/apps/evolution
- ~/.gnome2_private/Evolution
After a fresh install, these data can be restored as follows:
- First start Evolution, run the wizard, and then close the application.
- Copy the backup files and directories to their appropriate locations in the new install.
