Account setup

• Specifying a custom port for connecting to POP3/IMAP/SMTP server. Use simply the convention servername:port when entering the server name.

Backup

To fully backup and restore Evolution data, including signatures, email account configuration, etc, backup the following files and directories (see [1]):

• ~/.evolution
• ~/.gconf/apps/evolution
• ~/.gnome2_private/Evolution

After a fresh install, these data can be restored as follows:

• First start Evolution, run the wizard, and then close the application.
• Copy the backup files and directories to their appropriate locations in the new install.

Note: On Ubuntu Karmic Koala 9.10, this procedure does restore the mails, signatures, filter rules, contacts, but it doesn't restore the configuration settings & email accounts!
