This page is about backing up DVD, i.e. DVD clone, DVD rip.

Current method

  • Use latest free version of DVDFab, either run in linux / wine, or native windows box.
Limitations
  • Free DVDFab refuses to clone some DVD (request to renew version, or buy a license):
    • Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
  • Some GUI failure in wine

Other methods

DVDFab

Issue

  • Can't renew DVDFab license. It requires connection to dvdfab server.

Not tried yet:

  • Install a v8 version in virtualbox, without network.

AnyDVD / CloneDVD

  • Only trial version
  • Does not run in virtualbox
